Several new innovations are introduced, which make the luxury cruiser extraordinary.

Rather than several smaller spaces on the main deck divided by bulkheads, the GUNBOAT 55 has one huge uninterrupted space from the mast to the aft crossbeam. Let’s face it, the moment we step aboard any cat, the aft doors and windows are opened immediately, and usually stay open until we leave the boat. Why not be able to have an open aft end when conditions permit? If the weather turns cold or damp, the aft end seals up snug as a cocoon with a semi-rigid enclosure.

While many offerings in this size stuff a mansion’s worth of unused accommodations into the space, the GUNBOAT 55 shows ultimate restraint. The beautiful Italian interiors were designed by Nauta Yachts. There are two superyacht-style cabins, with the option of adding a third. Most people in this size range sail with their spouse and family, if a large group is onboard, the daybeds and sofas can handle the crowd.

Owners can choose from three customizable layouts that can offer a third cabin, an owners’ office or a workshop/systems space.

The helm and sail handling areas are truly indoor/outdoor. When conditions permit, the moonroof and windscreen can be retracted for open air sailing. When it gets wet, the moonroof and windscreen deploy for complete protection and indoor operation. In all conditions, you have perfect visibility of the sails and a 360 degree range of visibility to the horizon.
