Join the rally of a lifetime!

We’re excited to announce the GLY World Odyssey 500, a collaborative around-the-world rally between all of the yacht builders of the Grand Large Yachting Group!
The adventure begins September 2021, commemorating the 500th anniversary of the first round the world voyage by Ferdinand Magellan and Juan Sebastian Elcano, and the 20th anniversary of Grand Large Yachting.

Participants of the Odyssey will receive a suite of support services and events during stopovers, and the enjoyment of a community traveling around the world together while still having the freedom to customize plans. The rally is organized along two different routes (Tropical or Southern), four organized starting points (Cherbourg, La Grande-Motte, Séville or Key West), but of course with the flexibility to join in along the route and detour to visit your dream destinations along the way. Requests to join the full rally or just a few legs will be considered.

This round-the-world sailing event is also a great opportunity to take part in scientific, educational and community projects along the way, all related to the “One Planet – One Future” theme.  Learn more

60's in the Southern Hemisphere

The American Dream

Look closely and might see Gunboat 60 ARETHUSA alongside the America’s Cup racecourse in New Zealand, with owners and crew (hailing from Newport RI) decked out in American Magic gear! Serving 14 days of hard time in pandemic prison seems well worth it as an entry requirement to this magical place where people run mask-free enjoying the summer sunshine and each other’s company amidst the technical showcase that is the AC36. And Arethusa brought some knives of her own to this gunfight – new daggerboards! Arethusa is sporting some significant upgrades, having recently completed the conversion from centerboards to daggerboards. Conceived by the owners and executed by the captain and his team of experts in Newport, they achieved the desired performance increase and a beautiful integration throughout. We’ll hear more on this as their adventures in New Zealand continue.

Peace & Quiet and South Pacific Sunsets

A dream trip of “sun, sailing downwind, surf, gliding, speed, good food”…They sailed 1200 nautical miles from Martinique to Panama, double-handed, without a drop of fuel! On Gunboat 60 MOONWAVE, captain and crew Sébastien and Sophie have been running a configuration of the Torqeedo Deep Blue Hybrid system, solar and hydroregeneration for 2 ½ years and > 35,000 miles. In 2020, their sailing and cruising grounds have spread from the Bahamas to Caribbean throughout the South Pacific and Indian Ocean. After beautiful sunsets and lots of miles this year, 2021 will present more opportunities to make the dream of fuel-free cruising a reality. Their dedication and success paves the way for all of us!
