Ringing in the New Year with the #GunboatTop10

Happy New Year from all of us at Gunboat! Leading up to the new year we recapped some of the top moments of 2021, celebrating another year of epic sailing adventures and impassioned boatbuilding, and the momentum for a truly spectacular 2022! The countdown:
10. "Life moving slow, boat moving fast." Gunboat 68 DASH sums up the Bahamas cruising lifestyle!  Optimized for liveaboard cruising and equipped for fun, days spent fishing and diving gave way to sundowners with fresh-caught and artful cuisine - while performance sailing put the thrill into island hopping.

9. City Cruising! One of the best ways to see NYC has to be cruising the East River on a Gunboat, and every year a number of Gunboats pass through. Take a ride with Gunboat 62 ZENYATTA!
8. The bustling Newport scene: Fall 2021 again saw Newport Shipyard turn into the Gunboat community hub. "From our office window and all around town, from the 48 to the 90, seven different Gunboat series can be spotted in the area, enjoying fantastic fall sailing conditions and getting ready for their next adventures South." 7. Adventure without boundaries. 2021 brought together a likeminded collaboration in the South of France: An entourage deserving a moment in the spotlight - Gunboat 6804, a Triumph Bonneville, and a Triumph Rocket 3 - blurring the boundaries from land to sea to the horizon.

6. Gunboat 60 ALAIA, island hopping French Polynesia 🏝‍♂️

Throughout their adventures, ALAIA posted comments like “Paradise” “Foiling in the Bora Bora lagoon” “Wahoo landed first thing this morning” and perhaps our favorite: "Gunboat catamarans are the way to go. Haul ass on autopilot while chewing up the miles and dragging Wahoo lures.” Even their tender Paipo gets due credit, for "missions to the reef pass, deserted beaches, secret spearfishing spots, or the bar!" 📸: Gunboat 60 ALAIA
5. Expanding horizons - We introduced the Gunboat 72V, a new series of cruising catamarans with Gunboat performance engineering and build quality, and a flybridge! For the 72V, the design and engineering collaboration of Gunboat, VPLP, Christophe Chedal Anglay and Patrick le Quément came together again - with an interior by Isabelle Racoupeau that distinguishes the 72V and harmonizes its own unique characteristics. The first of the series is spoken for and well underway at our factory in La Grande-Motte, France. https://www.gunboat.com/72v-01-june2021/
4. "Get out there and explore". Cameos of Gunboat 48 VELA inspire us all to embrace the elements, in media promoting a new pro gear line launched by John John Florence in 2021 - Florence Marine X!

1. Boldly moving into the future with two Gunboat 80s sold and in build! With the Gunboat 80 we invited clients to dream bigger - not just in physical space but to the level of yachtbuilding refinement and customization they desire. In the first build update we've disclosed just one area of this "no compromise" approach to building the ultimate 80-footer. Hull construction entirely in prepreg carbon fiber employs collaborations with the best in the business. Read the build updateWe’ve set the bar higher, working together with VPLP to deliver the most customizable Gunboat yet - and to sail while the rest are motoring. To onlookers it might look impossible. To sailors it might feel surreal. Imagine your Gunboat 80 sailing faster than the wind in anything over 6kts of true wind speed, but don’t stop there…Learn more about the Gunboat 80
